Ecover - Ocean Waves Toilet Cleaner

I am in love with Ecover Ocean Waves Toilet Cleaner. It is really strong and has an amazing scent that perfumes the whole bathroom. Good work to the Ecover team on this one!

Kids Cleaning Ideas

With the weather being less then fabulous, you may spend a fair bit of time at home and as a result, things can get untidy very quickly!
It can be a bit of a challenge getting your kids to clean up after themselves but I have found that if you turn it into a game you can get the job done a lot quicker. Also positive reinforcement goes a long way (in adults and in children!), praising your child for doing a good job will hopefully encourage them to do the same in the future!

Rediscovering Old Classics

Digging out old books can be a great way to bring back memories or simply rediscover old favourites. If your books have been in storage for a while and are smelling a tad musty, simply place them in a bag with some scrunched up newspaper, leave for 24 hours. When you take them out, the newspaper should have absorbed most of the dampness and odour.

Microwaves

Our favourite wonder-fruit, the lemon is back! This time taking on grubby microwaves. Simply slice a lemon and put it in a microwavable bowl of water and cook on high for 2 minutes. The stream produced will make any tough grease easier to remove while also neutralising any lingering odours.

Christmas Merriment

There are only 5 days left until Christmas. I hope you are enjoying all of the festivities. Christmas dinner can sometimes be a rawkus affair which can end with the odd red wine spill here and there! A great tip for removing recently spilled red wine is to gently blot away the excess with a clean cloth and then dab the stain with soda water. Have a thoroughly enjoyable day!

Keeping your furniture happy

Wooden furniture needs to be waxed once in a while in order to keep it in good condition. Beeswax polish is a natural way to feed your wood. Try adding a few drops of your favourite essential oil for an added fragrance.

Our Ethos

When My Green Cleaner first started I was concerned not just with using ecologically sound products but also building an ethically sound company. We employ all of our staff which means they are entitled to holiday pay. We also pay above minimum wage and ensure that our cleaners do not work too many hours a day.
We want our employees to feel valued and believe that happy employees produce the best work!

Tip of the day.

One problem that we often face when cleaning is a build up of lime-scale on taps and shower heads. A good way to combat this is to soak rags in distilled white vinegar and wrap them around the offending area. Leave for an hour and come back and give it a good scrub to see a marked difference.

Not just your every day clean!

If you have a party or event coming up that you are hosting at home, you might want to have a bit of help with the cleaning so that you can focus on the more important things!
We recently did a clean for a client who was hosting a wedding reception at their house.
Here's the feedback that we received;
'Thank you again for all your and Zofia's help. The day was amazing - blue skies, happy faces all round and a fantastic party in the evening and it was lovely not having to worry about cleaning in the run up to our big day' JM, Bishopston
One off cleans are a minimum of 6 hours and will be tailored to your exact needs.
